Korean Banks on Sundays: A Foreigner's Weekend Banking Survival Guide

Hi, Welcome to Living and Working in Korea. I'm Ryan, M, Korean CPA.

Too Busy for the Bank? Here Are Korean Bank Branches Open on Sundays (2026 Full List)

Working 9-to-5 in Korea often means banking is a mission impossible.

Most banks close at 4:00 PM, leaving you with no time to fix your card or send money home.

But here is the secret most foreigners don’t know: You can go to the bank on Sunday.

Korean Banks on Sundays: A Foreigner's Weekend Banking Survival Guide

Korea’s major banks operate specific "Foreigner Specialized Branches" that open on weekends just for you. As a Korean CPA, I’ve compiled the definitive 2026 list of Sunday-operating branches for Woori, KB, Hana, and Shinhan. Bookmark this page—it will save your weekend.

1. Why Go to a Sunday Branch?

These aren't just regular branches. They are designed for expats:

  • Foreigner-Only Access: You won't compete with hundreds of locals.

  • Multilingual Staff: Employees usually speak English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, or Russian.

  • Full Service: Open accounts, issue cards, and set up overseas remittance.

2. The Ultimate Sunday Branch List (By Region)

3. Ryan’s Pro Tips for Sunday Banking

  • Bring Your ARC: These branches are strictly for foreigners. You usually cannot enter without an Alien Registration Card or Passport.

  • Check the Date: Some Hana Bank branches only open on specific Sundays (e.g., 2nd & 4th). KB and Woori are generally safer bets as they open every Sunday.

  • Go Early: These branches get crowded with workers. Arrive at 9:50 AM to be first in line.
